There are few things I love more than a new feature, and so I hope you enjoy Laura's and my first One
Book Wonder, our scheme for capturing conversations about books that otherwise slip through the podcast cracks. First up is Good Material by Dolly Alderton, billed as 'Like Nora Ephron, but with a British twist' by the New York Times and appearing on their Top 10 Books of 2024 list (gift link), slightly to our surprise. And so of course, we had to read it.
I hope you'll forgive the sound which is not up to my usual standards – the batteries had gone flat on my digital recorder, and due to Christmas every AA battery to be found in the house was also flat, so I had to resort to Zoom audio. We'll be back to our more professional sounding selves for the next one.
