To what extent do we want contemporary fiction to sound like the contemporary world?
The last Sunday of every month over on The Book Club Review Patreon is book club day. We meet in the evening over zoom, with a recording posted back for anyone who couldn't make the live session. Here's a clip from our June session on UNIVERSALITY by Natasha Brown, a pleasingly divisive book that made for brilliant discussion and debate. We love the books that get people talking, and this one certainly did.
Next up in July is PERSPECTIVES, an art-historical novel told in letters from French Prix Goncourt winner Laurent Binet (Sam Taylor).
